Feels Like Home
Feels Like Home is a love letter to the Caribbean and home away from home, a tribute to the everyday moments that shape our identity, even when we are far from what we call home.
This collection was born from memory and longing. It captures the small things that linger in the heart long after we've left. The sound of church hymns drifting through open windows, clothes dancing on the line, barefoot children running, or the way sunlight warms zinc rooftops at golden hour.
As a Jamaican-born artist growing up abroad, I often find myself caught between two worlds. This body of work is my way of bridging that gap of holding on to what was, while honoring where I am now. Each piece is filled in nostalgia, painted with gratitude, and rooted in love for my culture.
Feels Like Home is not just about a place, it’s about feeling. It’s that quiet knowing, that deep exhale, that moment of recognition when something touches your soul and says, “Yuh belong here.” Through this collection, I hope to stir that feeling in others; to remind us that home isn’t just where we’re from, but where our spirit feels seen.
